3D Cachicata Trek

On this trek, you will experience the cultural and natural richness of the Cusco Andes and have an authentic encounter with the Quechua communities. The impressive Urubamba mountain range will accompany you as you pass through magical places along the route, such as the enigmatic Cachicata quarries.

  • We will depart from Cusco to the Sacred Valley. After 2 hours we will arrive in Soqma where we will start our trek. Our first stop will be at Perolniyoc, an enchanting waterfall of 50 meters, from where we will continue our way up to the center of the archaelogical site of Rayanpata. After a short break we will continue until we reach our campsite.

  • We will wake up early in the morning and have a hearty breakfast to start our trek. Today will be the longest and most challenging day of our program. We will start climbing up to 'abra' Rayan until we reach a pace that will challenge our physical strength. From here we will have a chance to appreciate Mount Veronica. We will continue our way through the 'Buena negra' pass, from where we will visit Inti Punku (Sun Gate); from here we will have an amazing view of the Sacred Valley of the Incas and the mountains.

  • Today, after breakfast, we will start our descent. Our first stop will be at the Cachicata Canteras, a place where the stones were extracted for the construction of Ollantaytambo and its agricultural terraces. We will continue descending until we reach the Inca Bridge, and our trek will end in Ollantaytambo.
