New Lima Airport starts operating this Sunday, June 1st

Starting Sunday, June 1st at 1 p.m., Lima will use the new Jorge Chávez Airport terminal for all incoming national and international flights. The new terminal is located just minutes away from the old terminal and can be accessed via Morales Duarez Avenue. Currently, select airlines are in a "soft launch" period prior to the inauguration.

Please be advised that on June 1, all Lima Airport operations will cease from 1:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. This time will be used for preparations for the inauguration, and all flights scheduled during this time have been rescheduled. Please confirm this information with your passengers' airlines.

The new airport has three floors:

  • The first floor is for Arrivals, both national and international.

  • The second floor is for Connections. Most vehicles will drop off passengers on this floor.

  • The third floor is for Departures, including check-in, security, and boarding pass control.

Here’s what you need to know about our operations at the new airport:

  • For departures, our transfers agents/guides will escort passengers from the second-floor entrance to the third-floor departure area and accompany them until they reach the security gate.

  • For arrivals, our transfers/guides will wait for passengers on the first floor, by the entrance doors: the right door for national arrivals and the left door for international arrivals.

As we prepare for the inauguration of the new Lima Airport, we wanted to share some important information regarding our operations during the initial phase:

  • For the first two weeks following the airport opening, our team will be operating in trial mode. We encourage you to inform your passengers about this transition period.

  • During this time, we will focus on defining and refining the contact points with transfers and guides on-site to ensure a seamless experience for our travelers.

  • Additionally, please be aware that some transfers may need to be reprogrammed to occur 30 minutes earlier than initially scheduled in order to mitigate any potential traffic delays.

It is essential to keep in touch with our emergency team throughout this period to help facilitate a smooth transition.
