Machu Picchu Entrance Fee

Increase Announced for May 2026

The Peruvian government has confirmed that entrance fees to Machu Picchu will increase on May 1, 2026. This is the first price increase approved since 2022. The new rate for international visitors will be 163 Peruvian soles (approximately $40 USD), which is an increase of 11 soles over the current price. Although the increase is moderate, it is an important update for advisors planning Peru programs for departures in 2026 and beyond.

The increase is based on a technical evaluation conducted by multiple ministries and is intended to generate additional funds for the conservation and maintenance of the archaeological park, as well as for visitor management.

Authorities are still reviewing whether price adjustments will apply to tickets already issued for June and July 2026 (high season). We recommend building flexibility into proposals until final clarification is released.

The minister also indicated that entrance fees at other archaeological and cultural sites, such as SacsayhuamĂ¡n, may be evaluated on a case-by-case basis depending on conservation and operational needs. Currently, no additional increases have been confirmed. Our team will continue to closely monitor developments and provide timely updates to ensure that your clients' programs remain accurate, competitive, and fully compliant with local regulations.

As always, early planning is essential for Machu Picchu, especially during the peak travel months of May through September. We are here to support you with up-to-date information, ticket management, and customized Peru itineraries.
