
5D Great Inca Trail Yauya to Huaritambo

Trek along a pristine section of the Great Inca Trail. This journey will take you through a remote and breathtaking part of the Northern Andes in Peru that few tourists have experienced.
For five exhilarating days, we will follow in the footsteps of the Incas. You will have the chance to walk on their great road, camp in ancient refuges, and enjoy the unique experience of having llamas carry your luggage. An experienced local guide, chef, and porters will accompany us to ensure that your adventure is safe and memorable.

In the morning, a private vehicle will pick you up and take you on the overland journey to Carhuaz, in the region of Ancash.
Once you arrive, you’ll check into your quaint hotel and begin acclimating to the mountain altitude.

The day starts by heading out early from our hotel as we embark on our journey, which will take us through beautiful remote mountain roads to the charming small town of Yauya, where the real adventure begins.
Upon our arrival, you'll find that our camp has already been set up with tents, and a delightful hot gourmet meal will be ready to enjoy.

After about six hours of walking from Yauya, we will reach the Inca Ruidandaran camp (3,800 masl), an archaeological site with standing walls that would have functioned as a tambo for rest and logistical control.

Today, we will cross the Puna, passing through narrow passes with steep cliffs and areas where the ancient Qhapaq Ñan has withstood the test of time and geography. We will travel from the camp at Inca Ruidandaran (12,467 ft), passing through Marancaylla, a large military/logistic base with three major structures and extensive corrals, and to the Inca Palla Huachanga archaeological site (13,880 ft).
Inca Palla Huachanga preserves Inca structures that are still being studied. Due to its location and design, it is believed that it may have served a strategic purpose, possibly as a ceremonial site or a waypoint for the Acllas, the chosen women of the empire.
