Cusco through 13 flavors
A culinary journey across the historic city
Cusco has always been a city best understood through its layers — history, architecture, living traditions, and, increasingly, its cuisine. Our new “13 Flavors” experience was designed as a different way to explore the city: combining some of Cusco’s most emblematic landmarks with the flavors that continue to shape everyday life in the Andes.
The experience begins at the vibrant San Pedro Market, one of the city’s most authentic gathering points. Here, travelers are introduced to a selection of local fruits before tasting a traditional cusqueño tamal, an essential part of the region’s morning cuisine.
From there, the route continues through the historic center, passing by the Plaza de Armas and some of Cusco’s most recognizable colonial and Inca landmarks. Along the way, guests witness the live preparation of an Andean trout ceviche paired with chicha morada, followed later by a traditional adobo cusqueño served with its classic bajativo.
The experience also includes some of the city’s most iconic cultural stops, including the exterior of Qorikancha, the famous 12-Angled Stone, and the traditional streets of San Blas, where Cusco reveals a slower and more local rhythm.
As with many Andean traditions, the journey concludes with a moment of gratitude and celebration. Near the San Blas square, travelers share a final toast with chicha de jora and frutillada, accompanied by an Andean piqueo and a traditional Cusco dessert.
More than a food tour, this experience offers a way to understand Cusco through its flavors, stories, and everyday rituals — connecting the city’s culinary heritage with the places and people that continue to keep it alive.
